Perelli Rosso Corsa

I know there has been endless tyre chat on the forum over the years but I can’t see any mention of the Rosso Corsas.

My rear was destroyed in some high speed stupidity at the end of last riding season after which hibernation followed. I'm just getting sorted for the coming year now.

I have ridden on Pirelli Corsa 111 for as long as I can remember for fast road / track work. I don't do any track stuff on the SD but also I don’t rack up many miles on the road either so my preference is still for good feel and grip over durability.

The Corsa 111 seem to have been replaced by the Rosso Corsa now and I just wondered if anybody here had used them on the SD and what their impressions were. Looking at what has been written before many people seem happy with M5's or 2CT's but tyres are as much in the mind as anything else (all the top sports tyres can do lap times few of us can aspire to) and so I'm inclined to stick with Pirelli unless the forum experience suggests it's a bad idea.

Any / all comments / advice welcome.

I have the Diablo rosso corsa's on the SD and they are great! Man what a tyre!
I also mentioned them several times on this forum.
They grip very well, plenty of feel and feedback and so far they actually wear pretty good also. Scrub in fast too.

I highly recommend them and they will be the next set I put on and the next....

I had the corsa III and did not like them, they never warmed up and rarely inspired confidence and "Bike" mag rated those tyres as 2 out of 5 and is probably why they have been replaced. But some people like them and for me I can only say that in 29 years of riding various bikes with loads of different tyres its one of very few I could not get on with. I think the worst was the Dunlop 208 if I can recall

If they are as good as what they replaced they will be great tyres.

I had a Rosso Corsa on thr rear with the original Corsa III on the front. It was a great tyre, never had a moment and gave me lots of confidence. Just changed out now after 6000klms. Still had 2 k's left I reckon, but the front was shot so went to M5s. If the M5s wear as good as they do everything else, I'll be going back to them for sure. Bloody brilliant.

Don't compare the OEM corsa III with the Diablo Rosso Corsa, it is a totally different tyre. I have seen the C III on other bikes and the are not very good. Regarding the warm up on the DRC's, in NZ the temp is not very hot and in winter I run a bit less pressure, never had any problems and the tyres grip pretty well from cold. I look forward having a spin in Townsville as soon as I get the bike over, I can only imagin how they would grip in 30C temps.
Just need to find a twisty road still...

The instructors at ESS used to use diablo corsa on their bikes.
Franki Chilli used to go like the wind on 'em.

I trotted 'round Brands in a tad under 55s on the 111s a few years ago and found them to be the outstanding in the Spanish Pyrenees.

I have been loving my DRC's probably done 2000km's on them now including two track days. Lots of confidence with them, which is helping my riding progress!
