Pirelli Diablos? Any Good?

#3The center of the 2CT will last a bit longer than the Diablo.
Speaking from personal experience, I've found the Pirelli to be one of the stickiest street tyres I've ridden on, and they don't get as greasy under trackday conditions as the Michelin tends to do. They're pricier than the 2CT and won't last as long, but they're worth the money spent. (That's not to say that the 2CT is a bad tyre, because it most certainly is not, but when I replace my tyres I'll be slapping another set of Pirellis on the Duke.)

#10Must be my night...I have just replaced my corsa3 with a rosso corse which is the upgraded replacement for the 3...to me they are chalk and cheese. The SDR was used through the bad weather and after several MOMENTS i was looking forward to replacing the stock rubber.
The only reason i have tried the Rosso rear is mainly due to my riding mate who has got Rosso's on his Tuono and has got nothing but good to say, he use's the bike all year round and as it has more horses he would be the first to find the limits and as he has no sign of unused tread i guess he has tested them well. The other problem is the front is still good working on the 2rear2one front, so i made the decison as warmer weather is hear to brave out a Pirelli till front is shot.
I have only done 400 miles on it but so far i have been totally impressed, no drama and quick to warm up. I have just got a few millimeters to remove off the edge and considering it is a very sticky tyre at just over £100 fitted it didn't break the bank...I may even consider staying with these when i have to change again.

#11I was going to say I was in exactly the same position with my sdr but I've got Diablos on mine. Standard diablo is not as sticky as I'd have liked and is poor in the wet. I've got a spare rear 2CT and will swap to them asap so i can try them out.
The Corsa III is much stickier but not so great in the wet and cold IMHO. But i haven't tried them on an SD though.
I just hope the 2CT is better than standard Diablo!!

#20Ok, I know I'm treading on thin ice here, but for the sake discussion, these tyre threads always perplex me.
I seriously cannot tell the difference between one type of tyre and the next.
Forinstance, I don't understand why Dunlops are rated as being crap. Unless you actually fell off because of them, why are they crap?
I've used them and they seemed all right to me, but the same goes for the Michelins and the Pirellis I had - and at the mo, I'm running Contiforce tyres and so far they seem just the same as the others.
None have caused me to have an accident or anything, so what am I missing?
The only thing I can imagine is my riding style is very pedestrian and never puts the tyres under stress.
