I was not sure whether to put this here or in the Rides section, as I am not trying to organise a ride with other SD'ers, just after some input from locals.

I have some time in October and am planning on heading out for a few days on my own just for fun.
I would really appreciate input from people who have been on these roads before and locals whether they are good roads, or if I have missed anything extra special.
I cannot stretch the ride much, as I am limited mainly by budget and how much luggage I can carry.

I am leaning towards option B for day 3 as I have a work mate who keeps on raving about how good natural bridge was.

This trip will all be mid-week, leaving on a Monday, and home on the Wednesday or Thursday.

or Then home.

Any input guys?
Hey mate, looks like a few nice days planned. On day one I recommend not taking Lions Rd. This is a narrow dangerous rough road with a large area of unfenced road. Cattle on the road. The buggers are not afraid of vehicles and will not move out of the way. Much better to stay on the Mt Lindsay Hwy through Rathdowney and the run up through the hills after Palen Creek is a blast on the SD. You can pick up the Summerland Way about 5 klicks after you cross the border. This is a good fast run to Kyogle.

On day 2 the run up the Bruxner from Casino to Tenterfield is my alltime fav. Don't forget to stop at the Drake pub for a cool drink and check out the bikes set up in the bar. A mint CB1100R and lots of motoracing memorabillia around the walls. And after the pub - 30 klms of twisties - bloody brilliant.

Day 3 - The run from Kyogle over to Murrwillumbah is a good fast run also. A bit rough in places but very enjoyable, especially along the river as you get closer to M'bah. A lot of roadwork here has made the road a racetrack. Numinbah is also a fun run. All in all sounds like a great few days. Enjoy.
I have edited the first day now to reflect what you have said. That is exactly the sort of advice I am after, thanks.
I'm with Reb, Bruxner is great. Rathdowney, Kyogle, Murwillumbah is one of my all time favorite loops from the gold coast.
I kind of like Lions Rd, there are some unpleasant bits but its worth the run for a handful of excellent corners and the nice scenery. Its also a good switchback/sub-loop if you want to end up in Kyogle to go Rathdowney/My Lindsay, summerland way, grevillia then north up Lions Rd and back down My Lindsay again - because its even more enjoyable the second time round on the same day.

As for Day 3, I'd do option B, Numinbah, advancetown, beechmont is great. Also worthy of a detour (about 10Kms) is pine creek rd that comes off numinbah valley rd going to springbrook/mudgeeraba, Just go up to the top of the hill and come back down, or continue on down the other side on the mudgee/springbrook rd (but then you'd miss the advancetown raceway..).

O'rileys is tiring but awesome, you will be fatigued when you get back to Canungra, allow time for a coffee/break. Look out for tourist coaches. I've done that road a hundred times and never seen a cop out there, nail it.

Either way, it will be a good run, perfect SD territory all round. Play safe and have fun.
Thanks mate. O'reileys is one I am really looking forward to. I might take an extra night near the bottom so I can do it a couple times.
Still 5 weeks away but I feel so good knowing that I will be doing this, poor KTM has not been ridden as much as it deserves lately.
