#7Cheers, Welshy - I did this before and had to pay £30 to fit the tyres to LOOSE wheels. In the end it was a load of hassle to get it done for very little gain. This is why I am looking for a quick 'fix'. (I'm getting lazy )

#8Been around for a while as well. Seen it at many a show but never tried it......seeing as I think the rear Diablo is prone to punctures for some reason I might give Ultraseal a go as well, not to repair but to prevent.

#12I did look at the temporay foam stuff but indeed that is just to get yourself home so that was a no-go.
I've now ordered a DIY kit of Ultraseal. It is advertised as a permanent repair solution (loads of endorsements back this up). Read the below or the FAQ to get your questions answered.
ULTRASEAL DIY KIT 700ML
Ultraseal is a non-toxic water-based gel inserted into the tyre through the tyre valve. The inner surface of the tyre and rim become coated with a layer of Ultraseal, stopping tyre porosity and reducing pressure loss. Punctures within the tyre tread area up to 6 mm are sealed as they happen, creating a permanent repair for the life of the tyre - tested at speeds exceeding 150 mph. Ultraseal can pay for itself with increased tyre life and mpg, with the bonus of a constant protection against punctures. The quality and efficiency of Ultraseal is proven again and again in the many test reports and testimonials. Ultraseal does not mask unsafe casing damage, does not void tyre manufacturers' warranty, does not rust or corrode wheel rims and requires no special handling at tyre replacement.
Even if the plug gets removed or 'falls' out this stuff should save the day...
It's worth the try anyway as I now plan to use it when I get my new Sportecs fitted for summer. I'm getting this done with up in Northern Ireland as they are much cheaper then the bandits in the republic . Visorshop recommend the Ultraseal 100%.
At least by then I'll know whether of not it is worth having...

Dr. D sounds to me that the puncture you had must have damaged the intergity of the tyre - see quote from the FAQ section:
Q - Can Ultraseal hide or mask a dangerous puncture?
A - No! Absolutely not...
It is virtually impossible for Ultraseal to hide or mask a dangerous wound. 34+ years of worldwide usage and countless tests which have been performed have proven that Ultraseal will not seal a tyre that has received a wound that would weaken the tyre's inner structure to a point that could be dangerous.
So if Ultraseal doesn't stop the leak the tyre should not be repaired anyway. In ways this should be safer as you do not get such a warning when you plug a puncture with a repair kit...
