Nice job . 'Till it rains and turns Autumn!
I've done this several times and you just have to man up as you watch it degrade. My titanium pipe is now so discoloured it's hard to see that it is actually made of the stuff. It's clean of dirt but patinated with years of layers of WD40 and heat.
But anyway - I appreciate the effort you put in there, really shows. I'm a bit of a freak for cleaning stuff and polishing. I bought a sand blaster a few years ago and it's opened up a whole new world of renovation possibilities. At present my fingers and nails are totally black from polishing metal over the last few weeks. Doing up the house and recommissioning old metal hinges and door latches. It's a paintstripper and rotary wire brush job and then polishing. Finding virgin steel and brass under layers of paint and grime is totally therapeutic and I can spend days doing it. Amy thinks I'm insane.
