#4You will also get some popping when the graphite seal in the exhaust system is worn out...mine went after a few years... The old exhaust pipe was getting pretty nasty looking in its third year ("stainless" steel?..yeah... right)...so I bought a whole "as new" exhaust system on ebay (with nice fresh...there is actually no such thing graphite seal) for not much more than the cost of the seal...which was unobtainable/backordered anyway.
What is "the old greased marble trick"?

Easiest way to disable SAS is to pull the hose off the back of the airbox, take a standard sized marble and cover it witha drop or two of oil and push it into the hose, reconnect hose to airbox.
Blocks it 100% for the price of a marble, and because it is round, it is easy to pop back out if you need to put everything back to stock.
It is not worth my time to remove all the stuff to install blockoff plates, which cost money and don't really save you any weight.
