PRO-TAPER Carmichael contour bar , LSL or Rimoza

Just looking for some advise... I'm looking to fit new bars to my 07 superduke, in attempt to put more wieght on front and change riding position a little closer to what i'm used to (superbike) Have narrowed down list to these three options.. was just wondering what most of the racers or riders would recommend... Can''t check them here in SA so have to go one Superduke.net's advice..

G'day Davey the Rizoma bars were to bent back and tilted up a bit so your riding style is more upright than more over the front.(more cruse than race)
the Protaper are more over the front and wider so I get more leverage and it seems a tad quicker in the change over to left and right. and also I feel like
more weight is over the front of my bike now.and look a shit load better than the rizoma'a i think..
i have kept them at 800mm still have not cut them back feels wide but good at the same time

I have the protaper carmichael bars and love them. Gives a very aggressive riding position.

I dont know about the 2 other options.

Anyone have a pic of the pro-taper installed?

Do you know the bar clamps have two different location options which move the bars forward and back? Take the bars off and turn the bar clamps 180 deg.

Are you able to remove the protaper decals or are they sprayed on??

Hunt around Ducati forums for a factory Streetfighter bar. I have one on my SDR and it's absolute perfection. It'll give you exactly what you seek.

Thanks , yes much more aggressive then stock. I like em. But I assume that the decals are painted on. Is that so?

Any comments from the guys with Rizoma or LSL

I am also looking into lower bars for my new (to me) SDR.

How similar are the countour bars to the Ducati bars? I had a Monster 1100S which had perfect bars as well and think the streetfighter bars are very close to these...

Ducati Magura bars are also about $175 I believe...

i had these on my Aprilia Dorsoduro,I too wanted to be more over the front after coming from a Kwak ZX10R.They also come in various heights and lenghts and angles.

Be warned, the Pro-Tapers are great bars for dirtbikes (only bars I use) but they are too wide for a street bike. I tried to fit them and the width will kill your lane splitting ability. Can't cut them down much because the bend radius is too far from center preventing proper placement of lever purches.

I have the LSL flat bars and love them! Can't fault them in any way

if I would like to cut the bars down maybe later on and I have drilled the holes for the controls already would it weaken the bar if
I drilled another few holes in it again.

Love the LSLs, as soon as I sat on the bike after fitting them it just felt right, I smiled to myself there and then, it just felt more purposeful and the first spirited ride out they all just made sense in the twisties and then even more so on the track.

Don't really do long commutes on the SD anymore so can't really say how much sacrifice they are for comfort over distance etc it does put more weight through your wrists which was kind of the intention of going for them in the first place but I used to do all my mileage on sportsbikes anyway and it's not as bad as that.

I've fitted the CNC top yoke now which has the extra mounting holes and put them as far forward as they go which I think is slightly more forward than the stock SD location but haven't tried them out yet, feels good when not moving though

Loads of scope to cut em down as short as you like as well, as because there's no rise the taper and bend starts further in to the centre

Just purchased a set of protaper bars for the duke and a set of lsl bars for my rm250, i like the finish of the protaper more. Ill put them on and post some pics

Anyone have any second hand bars they would like to sell?

Wow....those bars on the RM look to be about a foot too wide. Careful in the trees!
