A lovely lady from here picked this up for me back in October... it was designed as a project to do up and make roadworthy for the wife to ride.
It cost me £200 for cash... i thought "that's ok, i'm sure it will be fine"
We had to drag it off the van when delievered as the calipers were siezed all round... it looked like such a dog i was gutted. It wouldn't run, wouldn't move and bits were falling off it... It was ready for the scrap yard at best.
The list of changes, repairs is long and laborious.
Forks seals
Fork oil
Alternator belt
Front pistons, seals, and pads
Rear pistons seals and pads
Braided lines.
Oil
Filter
Air filter
Clutch fluid
Carbs sorted
Valve clearances
Swingarm/shock stripped
New painting on anything metal
Cleaned stripped and polished to within a fraction of it's life.
At times i thought this would never end...
It now has though.
The wife took it out last night after it's first MOT in 5 years and she loves it !!!!
Simply because it's brilliant... i did about 25 miles on it last night and for a 23 year old piece of crap, it's pretty bloody great, 140mph+ speeds ... handles ok, goes well... doesn't stop very well but i'll address that
I was soooooooooooooooo pleased when it passed the MOT, i nearly cried
Still have a bit of cleaning/tidying to do, replace some bolts that are crap... but basically it's almost there.
