Puig screen gave my bike the wobbles

Just fitted a puig 7014F screen to the 1290 , was hoping it would help on long rides when riding into headwinds and ontrackdays so I had something to hide behind
went for test ride and holly crap the steering got all wobbly at a certain speed , decided to take it off and went for another test ride and all was fine without the screen. got a email from Puig and told me to help improve the problem to tightening the rear suspension and also they suggested adding the engine spoiler ref. 7573J.
Already had my suspension setup for me and not going to add more stuff to the bike . wasn't planing on sending it back as shipping was to much and was thinking of selling it but didn't want the hassle
of this maybe happening to the new owner.
Saw a friend and he had a little screen on his MT09 so when I got home I decided to cut the screen down and steering seams ok again.
Just not sure if I like the look of it but it may grow on me

Moral of the story Don't put a gay wind screen on a naked bike

I fitted the same screen, then added an additional flip screen on top of it that I had hanging about as all it did was shove the air up into my helmet - hated it and off it came - back to fully naked and the bike's so much better..

I will leave it on for the next ride and see how it goes.

I was planning to buy the Puig for my new 1290. But is sounds like I'll be bagging that plan Goes to show you how sensitive handling/steering can be to aero. Unless KTM sells one I guess I won't bother even trying. Ideally I would have liked a carbon fly screen that just tweaks the air flow a bit.

I notice that there are 8 positive reviews on revzilla with no mention of steering being affected. Hrrmmm??? Is that fishy? Could the original poster have had a tyre, or tyre pressure problem? Just a question.
