Hey Folks, After reading about Kriega products on this forum i went a purchased a couple of items. I know how helpful it can be to get others opinions of products. so here is a quick review of the US10 Weatherproof tailpack.
This is the end result with the US 10 fitted to the tail of the SD. (note the tiedown straps wrap under the seat)
To give an idea of what you can fit into the US10 i grabbed a few things you might want to have with you on a weekend trip. 2 Jocks, 2 socks, 2 T-shirts, 1 Bath Towel, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Shaver, Hair Product. (assuming you have other essentials in a backback).
The US10 is a waterproof bag, this picture shows the bag opened and empty. When you fill the bag the top is rolled and clamped. there is no zipper at the opening. The mesh compartment you can see in this picture would normally sit facing down on the seat. you could stash some maps or similar in there for quick access.
Here is our filled pack, sealed tight and ready to go on the bike. Note the zipper on the side. This is an external waterproof compartment that you could use for some small items.
The tiedown straps are fitted to the bike. Just take off the seat and lay them across the frame.
Here is the pack fitted. When the straps are pulled tight the pack fits nice and secure.
In conclusion i think this little back is useful and does not detract too much from the look of the bike. I also got a R25 Backpack so when i get a chance i will make some notes on that and also see how both can work together.
