Radiator cleaning???

Hey guys....in the process of making a homemade rad guard & was wondering how you guys get rid of all the bugs & shyte that tend to get smooshed into the radiator after a nice long ride??

any tricks to cleaning the rad without damaging it?

How to GET the bugs out not how to KEEP the bugs out
Garden hose, light pressure and time. You can use a soft bristle brush very gingerly.
