Redneck SD

So I picked up my SD last Saturday and I've already jumped into a few of the things I've seen on this site.
I ordered my integrated tailight two days before I picked up the bike (should be here this afternoon) and I just pulled the bike in the house and have already hacked up the duckbill.

I also planned on making a custom exhaust and after seeing several people with de-catted stock pipes I figured I'd give that a try as well. So right now my entire tail is in pieces with my can on the kitchen floor (I'm waiting on my buddies angle-grinder to show up later).

I dont know if I'm the only redneck to ever own an SD, but I wasnt able to find any videos or sound clips of a Duke running with no exhaust.... so I made one. Its on my buddies I-Phone, and because the service is so crappy where we live I'm having trouble getting it onto my computer. When I figure it out I'll post it up on this thread.

Now I know its terrible to run an open exhaust as it burns the crap out of your valves, but what do you guys think the minimum amount of backpressure needed would be to keep the bike running safely (while still keeping the front wheel light ) . Any suggestions on how to achieve this in say a stainless pipe split into two tips?

Like I said I’m a redneck, and I think an open exhaust sounds awesome (my first bikes were Harleys).
Am I the only one here that feels like this?
YEP...

Prolly...

Dont insanely loud pipes personify this? Maybe not in Europe, but in the states... I think so.

Give me a break here guys.
I don't know the answers to your questions, but I can vouch for the ingenuity of rednecks!
Post the vid when you can. I'd love to see/hear it.

Btw, you're not going to keep it that way are you? I would think you'd need some back pressure for it to run right.

At any rate, I'm looking forward to the vid.

Oh hell, my rear gets hot with the stock setup!

.....and here's the video.

Sorry its sideways, but you still get the idea.
The side ways shot just helps the whole red neckness.

nope, but I'd appreciate a link for the 05/06 ones out of curiosity.

You're very well spoken for a redneck by the way. Nothing like the ones on the teevee....

Here's a link for the blinkers I saw. Upon further inspection though they look to be a stcik on universal set, so not that exciting in the end.

Well spoken, thanks Samba, I guess I'm more of a redneck at heart.

Nice Bagsey.

I just put the pipes back on, sounds like what I thought it was going to the first time I fired it up.
I had a hard time getting it back in though, I think it got tweaked a little while it was being welded.
The guy could have done a better job with the welds, but no one can see them anyway.
