Remus Headers

Bert

Ive got a 07 SDR which came with the carbon hexacone cans,
i have heard that Remus also do a set of S/S headers.
Does anybody have any information on these ie,performance gains, availability or anybody selling any.
Ive only managed to find 1 ad and that was for a full system including cans.
Thanx in advance

ebay has them... on their pics they look about the same length as std pipes.

Thanks for your help.
Does anyone have any experience of fitting these headers and if they improve on performance like the Ackra headers do.
Or are they just a replacement for the standard setup.

I'm curious too...Does anything work as good or better..as the Acropovic header..???

Can you fit FMF cans onto Akra headers? Would you need a different Y pipe (other than the one that comes with the FMF's)? If so, what Y pipe?

Like Samba and Jermo said...
are some pics. These show the difference between the standard headers/y-piece and the EVO headers/Y-piece.

So I'm clear here... So the only headers that I could put on my SD with FMF cans are the standard/stock SDR headers (I thought the standard headers for the SDR were Arka's)? With the Akra Ti or stainless I would need a different Y connector or run Akra Evo's?

With the standard SDR headers, getting to the drain plug is a real bitch right?

Somebody want to post a link on the exact header that I should be looking at? Where in the fook could I buy a standard/stock SDR header?
Stratkat

Stratkat

types of headers:

standard SD
standard SDR (07)
standard SDR (08+) - Akras
Akra evo RACE

akra evo race headers require akra evo race Y-piece and cans.

everything else will fit just fine. the most confusing part is that there are Akra Evo cans, and Akra Evo RACE cans.

Sorry for the dumb ass question, but what gains in HP do you get from the Apro headers in SS.
Stratkat

Stratkat

dont know because i did the Moto box, PC and exhaust all at the same time. i think the concenseus was the race headers gained like 3-5 hp??

Hi guys

Does anyone bought the remus headers?I want to install aftermarket headers to my superduke but i want to keep my carbon leovince as they allow me to fit my pillion bag etc. After made a search in the web i found the remus headers (500euros) and the fresco headers(the akrapovic evo can not be installed with my leovince). My question is shall i spend the amount or i will not see any difference in the performance?

cheers

Don't know of anyone who has bought the remus or the fresco headers on here, so no one will no if their is any BHP gain.

There are gains to be had from the evolution akrapovic system, but I don't believe anyone had BHP gains from the attaching SDR headers on a standard SD.

Its a lot of £££ for something you don't know if it will give any BHP increase.

Everything I've read about this comes up 4 or 5 hp in the end,,,,,,,,,,,,,depending on final mapping,,,

I did hear some positive comments about the remus stuff in general, not sure about the headers but they look fine. I'll guess you won't find a compare with akra's.

I had a look at the add John, and I speak the language (flemish or Belgian Dutch). I would watch out as the language is Belgian but the part is in Germany?!
To add to the confusion it states: "This part will only be shipped to Belgium".
Next line: " For other shipping contact the seller"...
?!?!

On the other hand I wouldn't mind them myself for that price.
Good luck but watch out!
Let me know if you want me to email him in flemish.

EDIT: The add expired but they are relisted.

Hey Guy, thanks for the heads up.

Been thinking about sprucing the old girl up as I'm not sure I'm keen on the new 1290. Was thinking yeah, let's get a new bike but then took the SD out for a ride last Sunday and had a blast smoking a BOSS 302 through the twisty bits. Had so much fun that I was thinking is it likely I'll have more fun on a new bike? Probably not. So, I figure some new brake/clutch lines, slave cylinder and exhaust system should clean her up a bit and keep me happy for the short term anyway.

Appreciate you contacting them! E-mail I sent below:

I have a couple of questions about this exhaust header system.

http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/REMUS-Auspu ... 0721985550

Is there any interference issues with this exhaust system..ie, oil drain bolt clearance issues, chin fairing clearance issues, etc? What is the finish on the pipe? Acid dip, bead blast?

And finally, how much is shipping to Los Angeles, Ca.?

Thanks in advance, John

Thanks Guy!

Link is the same as your first post. Did you hear back from the seller? keep in mind it is summer holidays in Europe.
if you don't hear back I will try. Sorry for the late reply, been away this weekend.

Hi guys,

Just my 2cts.
The seller on ebay is an exhaust(in german: auspuff) firm from Bielefeld, Germany: http://www.mgh-bikes.de
A real tekkie-shop, where even the general manager has grease under his fingernails.. They are a real pricefighter and are selling exhausts for more that 10 years.
As far as I know from some of my german bikerfriends, there delivery can be a bit binary.... either flawles or a real pain...

They als sell on another site:
http://www.hood.de/angebot/46152109/rem ... hl-new.htm
It appears there they ship worldwide for 70Euro.

When I can assist in contacting them, just gimme a sign. They are just a 6 hour drive from my home.

Why would you replace the brake/clutch lines? Aren't they braided from the factory?

I've never had an issue with a splitter.

I haven't noticed corrosion on mine, and the bike was initially in San Francisco and now Berkeley - both fairly damp, and reasonably close to the coast. I hope I don't have problems with it.
