RG Sliders in a Crash??? Uppers & Lowers

#6Tested the sliders out last week and both the top and bottom did their job, the SD crashes very well. In my opinion the bottom saves more of the important bits like frame, engine and swing arm, the upper saves all the plastic. They only real damage I had was a destroyed foot peg and some scratches on the left tank spoiler. The spoiler is $200 to replace for a piece of plastic and a sticker, crazy.... The sliders saved the rest of my track day so if have the money I would just buy both.

#7I'd get them both. Along with fork and swing arm sliders. I had a lowside last month and the sliders saved my bike from serious damage. I think the lower slider will save your case covers.

#8I lowsided without any sliders and the engine case didnt get touched at all. The handlebars (even though the mount bent and the bars wounded the tank) saved the engine and fork ends from touching down. I had stand spools on the back and they were mashed so I suspect the swingarm might have taken a scrape if they werent there.
The front side tank panel took most of the damage, then the headlight shroud. Bar ends, mirror and bars were total loss. Gear shift lever snapped. Pegs (both pilot and pillion) were scraped and a little bent.
In saying that, i'm getting sliders now, it could have been so much cheaper to fix if I had them.
I had the same thought that the lowers dont do anywhere near as much as the uppers do and unless it cartwheels and the bars snap, the fork end sliders are probably not critical either.

#12Sort of hoping to not crash, but you know how that is.
Rather have repairs in the hundreds of dollars, instead of thousands. Or a totaled motorcycle.
