#8Depends on how cold it is - I have developed my own little system. When brutally cold ( below freezing ) I have synthetic/nylon gear ( jacket, pants and heavy boots ) When it's a reasonable temperature I switch to my Vanson leather jacket ( with armor ) and kevlar lined jeans and Bohn protective underwear - and when it's really hot --------- I sweat it out in any combination of the above....of course gloves boots and helmet are a given. It's so much more fun for me in the summer months to be able to throw the bike into corners etc. without fear of road rash should I fook up.....Dress for the slide - not the ride...........

#9i voted leather, but i also have proper rain and cold weather gear(ie motorcycle gear, with paddings/kevlar etc.)... definitively full leathers and all protectors whenever any foolishness is even a slightest possibility...

#10Leather - always. I feel for you in Sweden when it gets hot - try 105 with 89% humidity! But that's only from July to September.
One piece seems a bit overkill on the street, but my zip-together 2 piece Dainese suit does the trick. It's not going to save me from being crushed by a 70-ton truck, but it will save my skin if I lose the front end on a dusty corner. Textiles look/feel/seem nice, but like anything made from plastic - heat (from friction) will melt it into your skin. Picture that, and leather doesn't look so expensive.
About the comment on a "US biker doing something stupid, he's only wearing jeans & a t-shirt", I think when you say the words "stupid" & "youtube" in the same sentence, nothing good will come of it. The proliferation of inexpensive sport bikes, easy licensing, and the invincibility of being 19/20/21.....

#11Track days i have a Spyke 1 Peice with full back protector, Fast road i have Dainese 2 peice. When using bike for work and short trips (ie, to gym and back) then i have Hein Gerricke textiles. All have back protection and i always wear my Dainese or Sidi race boots (ive seen too many broken ankles from even small `offs`)
