I fancied a new helmet, but because I will only put my precious turnip in an Arai RX-7 I was sulking a bit, £500!!!! I could have got one of the older designes and saved about £80, but the one I wanted was a new design and full price. A quick look on ebay found the same helmet in the U.S. for $500!!! HALF PRICE FFS!!! So including shipping that came to £271, a £229 saving . Ordered it Friday, turned up today, Tuesday, no VAT, no tax (asked to send as a gift, although helmets are zero vat anyway) Result Saved enough money to buy a new pair of Alpinestars Supertech boots, christmas has come early to Dr F!

P.S. I didn't buy one, but black visors for the same are only £22, £45 if you buy them here!
About the sizing DrF...... i thought Arai did three shell shapes to cater for the differing head shapes for the jap, euro and the american market.....

Whats the fit like you tight git..........

Damm good saving though, just goes to show they charge us what they think we will pay for goods
Got a link for the auction or the store for the lid Mr F?????

Cos they think you will put up with it,,,,you have no gun? what can ye do?

Holy War Is ON.........joe
Bloody hell,HUGE freaking saving
We get shafted even worse down the low end of the planet mainly due to the far smaller market down here. With a population of 4.2 million you tend to get screwed over mighty hard...and not in a good way.

Only way to get the deals is to do what you've done. Onya mate
It's not just helmets...I was in the UK last month, and everything cost 2 -2.5X as much as in the US! As if paying more wasn't enough, the food generally was pretty bland - it should have all been gourmet for those prices.
Mushy peas?
I was told that the dollar is shit in the world market is that true?

Look, I know you dudes are smart cos I like ya,,,,,I can't stand a dumbass,

But my point is your head sizes are small, in uk size AGV I wear a XXL and

the sob is still tighter that a fookin balloon, but in the usa size helmet I wear a

XL, so does that tell you something about the size of me brain?

Has anyone gone from Shoei to Arai? Do the compare in sizes?

The prices on Ebay are really low, especially with the $ exchange rate
I Have done that and the Arai rus 1 size smaller than the shoei, This is MHO,

That's near enough what I paid for my RX-7. With all due respect, there's no contest really.

Watch out, I do not want to anger the northern crowd ?

I've heard this urban myth before, and I guess there is some truth to it, but have you ever heard of this happening, in the weekly rag or magazines? Me neither, they would have to prove that the helmet was not 'fit for use', which I think would be a tough one for them.
Again hard to prove, the snell testing that us spec helmets have to endure to pass does seem more stringent that what we have over here in the uk... plus with the acu handing out gold standard stickers like sweeties didnt help matters.......
