Monkeydog
This is my experience so far, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I bought the Rottweiler kit, sas plates and cable direct from the uk importer.
Installed it and followed the instructions to the letter.
First time I connected to the ecu I got a FI light come on.
I finished the install and fired it up. It was really rough.
I removed everything and put it back standard. Still the FI light.
Had to take it to a KTM dealer. They suspected that the throttle position sensor for the secondary butterflies was faulty. As I had touched it, they said my warranty was invalid. They got a third party electronics specialist in to check the TPS. He tested everything and said the throttle bodies were fine and the fault must be on the ecu.
A new ecu was ordered at a cost of £550. When the new one came it was noticed that the ecu on my 2013 SD was from a 2008 model (a 100 series). They fitted the new ecu( a 200 series) and the bike still occasionally moves from idle to about 4000 revs on its own.
They now say that I need a new set of throttle bodies at around £850!!
Does anyone have real expertise in this area? In thinking if the ecu was wrong, maybe I can claim KTM and if the new ecu hasn't solved it, do I need it at all?
The bill is mounting and I feel like I'm getting ripped off a bit, although it's bound to sting anyway.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Tim
