Scotts Vs Gpr Damper

Hi Guys.. I know my bike needs one... But my question is which one..

The Gpr comes in black, and has 20 adjustments... This is why I'm leaning
toward the Gpr..
I have no experience with dampers so I'm not sure which to buy.

What about the scotts.

Scotts is better and requires less seal replacements.

Got a GPR vers. 1 on my trackbike, always turn it down when going into the pits where its hard to turn a slow speed.
Scotts is progressive so you don't notice it except when you need it, have it on my superduke. Takes a bit longer to setup and actually had to read the manual to do so.

The one thing I cannot stand with the scotts is the gold color...
Thats why I want the Gpr v4... But I won't want the Gpr if it's not easy to use or worry about it leaking.

Its not the crappy gold colour... It ohlins gold as the Scotts dampeners are the same as the ohlins ones, just different etching. Paint it black if you don't like it

MrZ.... I rather not have gold... Black is my choice... That's why I'm holding off at the moment... To find which on is better.. I have a feeling I'm going to find out after I chose one.

Haha.. I don't like the gold either. Black every time for me. But the scotts is always gold and I have drswade's old damper fitted because it's the best bit of kit. And I'm thinking of selling my old telescopic damper because I will not be going back to it. Ever. But was thinking about getting it anodised black - need an excuse to pull it apart and not break it whilst doing this. I think they are made to be pulled apart and services though so should be OK.

DrSwade: Do you have 1st hand experience with the GPR... Have you used one... I'm just wondering where your opinion stems from. I know you have used the scotts.

Go to Scotts web site and read how it set up and adjusted. I have used only on the dirt but the Scotts is the much better dampner.

I think you have to consider tha mounting bracket too. I don't want to get confused but it's far different from each other. GPR shoud raise the handlebar while Scotts leave the same height. That's why I preferred Scotts (that looks great and pro too)!

GPR didn't show that they offered on when I bought the Scott's. I looked at them after the fact and don't like them.
The Scott has incredible level of adjustment besides just speed or strength. You can even adjust the pie slice where it operates. Not so with the telescopic. The tele model will bend in a crash too.
Another reason I don't want one. Well, maybe Vic's if the price is right?
