So it's been in for a remap as they've put a Rottweiler airbox on it..

Check out how bad the a/f mixture was!

I'm guessing this is a 990?

What did you use as a base map?

That's a pretty healthy increase across the board, makes me wonder what I'm missing by not having mine tuned.

I'd say the base map is the akra map.

Keep saying it for years, do a proper dyno tune! You save the money back in no time in smaller fuel bill, less clothes to wash and you get more and smoother power.

If you look at the A/F ratio graph, you will see that it was high, meaning too much air, or a lean mixture. So I am guessing it was the stock map with your aftermarket exhaust.

I understand that a custom tune is best, however, given similar operating conditions and bike setup, there is no reason why maps can't be swapped from bike to bike. When KTM or any OEM develops a stock fuel map for thousands of bikes, there is not a huge disparity between the stock bikes, is there?

The tuner that made a custom map for my bike and also another SD at the same time said there was big differences between every LC8 engine he has done in the past. He put my new map on another SD with identical mods and it was way off. Worth every cent for a good custom tune!

So for whatever reason (cold & wet) I hadn't actually ridden it since the mods were done until the other day and I can report - it's uber smooth in comparison to before, pulls much better and you can ride through town without it lurching about. Seems better when shifting gear in either direction - just a real joy to ride.. Just need now a few more deg 'c so I can take it for a serious ride

Was it worth it? - sure was, feels much less agricultural and more harmonious.

But.. My new cans sound shite as if they rattle part way through the rev range which is odd because I've replaced Suono's with Suonos. The older ones were better as you could take out the baffles by removing a large circlip, these have the baffles riveted in
