SD longevity?

Very strong bike. I reckon the SD will still be thumping on long after a same age firestorm has crumbled into Jap alloy dust. Shade had 50k on his when he sold it, still looked like a new bike.

The fact that Jody bought it and quickly resold it to Weeksy who quickly resold it is no reflection on the bike. More a statement that Jody has too many Superdukes and no time to ride them and Weeksy doesnt know what fooking bike he wants. 'Alright Alright caaaaaaaaaaalm down.

Ride it, maintain it as per the book and ot will be fine. I kept all my metal work fresh and clean, replace rusty parts immediately (i didnt have any, only a few dull bolts here and there) and keep the oil nice and fresh. She will keeo going and going.

Ive met guys with over 80000 miles on adventures, essentially the same engine!

What he said. The LC8 on the Adventurer is the same motor (bored out on the SD) and I've see 2 so far in person that have nearly 90K on the clock and have been in Mexico, Europe, and most of the USA. Adhere to maintenance intervals and theres no reason why it wouldn't outlast the riders interest in the bike. Probably why KTM doesn't want to change the LC8. I'm hoping for a bigger engine in the SD, but would understand if KTM does not fix whats not broken.

My buddy Dino has 52K miles on his 07 SD and he doesn't just tool around. He rides the piss out of it. He just ordered the Motobox so I can see him putting another 52K miles on real quick.

A fair bit of riders have put some serious miles and km's on the SD. I haven't heard of any major bangs.
Look around in for sale sections and ebay and the like, not much parts available like frames or other bits.
Means it's doing well.
With the exeption of a few niggles we know about and which can be solved easily, the SD is pretty good.
