Hi everyone !

This is my first post here...became a member just 2 min ago.
I've been here reading your posts for some months and now was the right time to join... .

Me and 2 friends will go touring in Norway in 2 weeks. Saw the thread here abt the bags from bags connection , but i decided to use the bags i already have. With my solution , i can have a pillion AND a tent. They can't... . So.....this is the result !

Bought a universal windshiled on ebay and mounted it. Fits ok and you can easily cruise in 170 km/h ... Looks like shit , but what the heck ! . It will only be there for one week...

I made my own bike-pack system instead of using bags from bags connection or by an expensive rack from Ventura... Built it so i can use my own bags and they wont touch the acras......

Also built a kit for the gps and the charger.....

For your info... This is just for touring !

( He he..I made it ! )
Welcome dude.
Afraid the image links dont work.
Thanks !.. ... Hmm...I've made somethin wrong...see if i can correct that. Otherwise you have to copy the adress and paste it into your browser....

Did you make the rack yourself
If so show me some more pics of the mounting points as it could be usefull for my upcoming camping trip
I fitted a big screen to my r1150gs and everybody took the piss until it got cold anw wet and windy in morroco going over the atlas mountains and i was lovely and warm and dry behind it and they all wanted my screen then
I did use the ermax screen for the summer blasts locally though
If you run the motor without oil for week I think you have made a Buell Ulysses...
ban1216 ..... Yes. I did it myself. I covered the bike and welded it on place , so i was sure it would fit perfectly. I used 20 mm stainless steel...NOT massive !

It has 4 mounting points... the rear bolts on the passenger footpegs and the mounting points for the acras. Hope i can upload the pics....

I don't want an Ulysses... I want a Duke...workin' undercover..
fantastic -
i toured from san francisco to los angeles with the standard screen. tough going... noise was trying on freeways at high speed. did you modify the mounts for the windscreen?? what type is it?? i would like to try and source the same in the US.

have a great trip!
That rack looks * BIG * but well made! The way you used the sparse connecting points on the SD is neat work indeed. Great protection for the Akra's too. Are you sure the lightweight subframe is up to all this?

I'd be interested in one that sits above the passenger part of the seat using the same construction. Do you make one-off's too?

But... Taking a passenger, luggage AND camping gear on a SuperDuke?... Man you're taking the difficult and uncomfortable route...

Ask someone to help you with your rack if you need it immediately. It's quite easy.... Haven't got the time to help you right now...the kids for 2 weeks and after that touring. But after the vecation ? Sure... i can do one for you ! Constructioning is funny ! [/quote]

Me too... I'll have one also Looks like you could have a new cereer,, perhaps a munufacturing company could put it into production? And you could rake off a percentage for development costs
Welcome

Like the rack ( can i commision you!!?) be good for taking tent to bike rallys!

I bet it will lift the front wheel in 4th gear with all that weight hangin out the back!!!!! SMART!!!

Count me in for a no passenger version...

The 05/06 and the 07 subframes have different part # but that doesn't say anything about WHAT is different, could be nothing more than a slightly different finish.
