I had another look tonight before it got dark. Front plug didn't feel completely tight. Tightened it and replaced coil pack and she started. Sounded ok I think but can't rev her a lot, as people were trying to get kids to bed ect. Put the motobox back on, tank back down and thought i'd go round the block to see if cured. She fired once and then just turned over with no fire. I'm really thinking coil pack or plug. Swapped plug with old one and then the fooking plug socket won't come off the plug Gave up as it was nearly dark and came in before I got the proper hump. My only concern is, wouldn't she try and fire with even just one coil pack working?? The other only other thing different when she started and sounded ok was the tank in the air. Could be a fuel pump thing?? bad connection. I didn't listen for fuel pump noise but I didn't not hear it either. I'm sure I'm going to get to the bottom of it guys.

Pete would you mind posting me one of your spare packs? I could test that on the bike and maybe and then have the bike free for the weekend if it turns out that's the problem. If not, if you wouldn't mind popping over on Sat morn Bic, that would be great dude. We could try a couple of other things. Fingers crossed it's simple.

Check the fuel-line with the fast "connector" under the tank too..
My SD was stopped after a washing (10-15 km later) because I've disconnected it accidentally

Problem solved guys

Thought I'd go out and start eliminating problems. Big grey connector with some dielectric grease. While there I thought I'd disconnect the PCIII. Problem solved Took her for a spin and runs a treat. Went to take out PCIII to send back to the US and noticed the earth connection had worked itself a bit loose and so wasn't making a good contact all the time Tightened that up, reconnected the PCIII and hey presto all is well

Thanks for all the advice and offers of bike bits. Pete thanks for posting the coil pack, I owe you some postage and a pint.

I was just gonna post saying unlucky,then i noticed you'd got it all sorted thank god it was only a loose wire,hopefully could be the start of a lucky streak for ya
