#2Therein lis the danger of shipping overseas (even US to Canada there is no "trace"). The honor system either lives in you, or doesn't. eBay is good for buying stuff in your own country, but outside? Not so much.
Both buyer AND seller beware.

#3Makes no difference whether its overseas or not.
To be honest, it doesn't make any difference if you use the most reliable and recorded/registered form of delivery, Paypal will still always side with the buyer.
You could hand deliver the bloody thing and the buyer can still claim he never got it, and Paypal will still take the money back off you!

#5And that's why I always use that ay where I send the item and when it arrives to post at buyers end, he pays it in the post office that transfers the money on my bank account.
Costs a little extra but is well worth it if selling anything more expensive to someone you can't rely 100%

#7Sorry to hear that. Not much help now but I recently heard that the Italians have a bad reputation when it comes to eBay transactions. (no offence to the Italian members on this board ) Aparently the postal service out there is pretty unreliable and that people often use this as an excuse...

#9If you buy/sell on ebay (which I do), all you have to do is follow a couple of simple rules I have learned first hand:
1. never sell outside your country
2. if buying outside your country, make sure you pay with Paypal (so you can dispute the item if it is junk/never arrives)
3. ALWAYS USE "TRACKED SHIPPING", and get a delivery receipt (this is how you prove to ebay/paypal you delivered). BTW, ebay OWNS paypal.
4. feedback can be left for up to 90 days after your deal is over. use it.
A new rule from ebay says that "sellers may no longer leave negative feedback". WTF? Most buyers are @ssholes because they want something for nothing.

#10in other words, they do not care about the losses of sellers. (cos thare are so many), so sellers should beware of paypal and coincidentally ebay.

I don't think there's anyway of getting around it, if the buyer wants to use Paypal.
So they stuff you with fees from both ends! Sometimes I hate it, but I do use it a lot!

I have bought and sold all over the world using eBay and never had a problem yet (lucky maybe) BUT I do make sure everything is sent recorded and insured. If the buyer doesn't like it they can go elsewhere!!
No one's knocking Italy here, just one thieving bastard who stole that seat (especially when I could have bought it myself to experiment with).
