Picked the R up this morning in the wet and set off home. Thro the traffic and on wet roads I found no fault with the fuelling or throttle. Once home I changed into leathers and headed off for a 150mile ride. The seat isn't the nightmare I thought it would be and gave me no problems. The tank range running in is approx 160 miles ! Handling it's a bit softer than my race bike and quite plush, it was less flighty and unstable than the other bike too. Braking felt similar. Engine wise well I'm only using 6k revs with the occasional run to 8k It pulls a lot cleaner from 2k revs than my old one and feels smoother.

So for me none of the bad things the press seem to think it has, It doesn't have throttle or fuelling problems but it does need a steady throttle hand as it is very very responsive. Complaining about a responsive engine tho is akin to admitting you are a cack handed baboon with the touch of a baby elephant. I'm guessing these people dong the tests are the latter
BRiliant mate. I think we'll be doing a long rideout together soon to make sure the SMR is run-in for Cadwell.

Rutlands Water soon i think on a workday (sickie)
