It's really up to you & your skillset when you're in Super Duke land.
The SDR has maybe 15+/- more HP, but squeezing out those last few ponies takes skill & a good trackday. You can't go wrong, but that SDR seat just looks masochistic. I've buried 2 local SDR riders on a track day on my stock SD, but then there's a guy on a 848 Ducati that leaves me like a bad habit.
This isn't GSXR/R1/CBR territory, where straight line acceleration is the bar. You'll be disappointed if that's what you're looking for.

What about the difference in handling? Does the steeper head angle on the SDR (than the 07-08 SD) and different suspension make a lot of difference? On track, road...and bumpy road

I've got the 07 SDR so the faster than SD part is not relevant for me...in a straight line anyway

This is no "seat of the pants comparo" my neighbor and I bought our bikes at the same time he got the SD I got the SDR. When we race side by side we are right together for about 3-4 seconds then the SDR leaves the standard behind. That would be around 6-7K RPM's just like the dyno suggest. At no time will the standard with the same equipment beat the SDR.

It is only in the top end that there is even a difference, there is not a drastic difference in the speed of either one. Like someone said it's not in the league of a litre bike on top end. Down low they are both really nice and can keep up with the big boys on the road or track up to about 100 MPH.

Both bikes are fast enough. You will love the top end difference compared to you EXC. Hope you are keeping your EXC the Super will be a nice addition.
