Only bit of advice I can give is to be careful about trying to T-Cut them out. Not sure if you have T-Cut in the States - it's a fine paint cutting compound - sort of like liquid fine sandpaper.
Anyway, after a track spill where my handlebars bent and the switch gear made some scratches in the black paint of the tank I tried T-Cutting them out and it worked really well. Scratches gone - except the patch where I worked ended up high gloss and the rest of the tank is of course sort of semi matt.
So maybe don't try this one.
