Well after just 1800 miles I could bear it no more. I have gone and got the seat re done, added some extra padding in and had the colours altered a bit, well a bit more orange.

I hope to get out at the weekend and see if it makes any major difference to the comfort, but I had enough of the plank for road riding, it just was not fun.

I think it looks the nuts and really happy with it, next is the comfort test.
This thread is useless without pics......
I didn't realise the seat was that bad. Well worth changing if it distracts from your riding. Hope it makes your bum happy!
I will get a pic this weekend.

I am just hoping the comfort test was worth it. I do aorund 4-5 track days a year but more on the road so it has to be comfortable and it just is not for me as standard.
a seat is gonna look like a seat, next you will want to touch it,

then you will want to squeeze it and who the hell knows whats next?........
You are surprising me about the seat being so bad. I am actually installing it at the moment

Well, but take a look how German streetfighter guys use no seat, just peace of metal sheet and drive long distances!!!

Looks is nr 1, comfort comes next
Do German streetfighters have big butts?
Hope Dr F doesn't find the end result too gay.

Gay, bigf buts never thought all this deap down sexual tension could come from I have changed the plank of a seat to something more comfortable.

I find the normal seat fine if I am doing track days and very twisty roads so you moving around a lot. I live in an area that takes me a good 30 mins plus to get on some good roads.

I have no idea how to post pics so gonna try in the galary section[/img]

done it is in picture gallery under accessories.

It is strange as in the pictures the orange looks different but it looks normal to be, maybe a slight difference but this was the KTM orange they had[/img]
The seat looks great!
Let us know how you like it, after some long rides.

I've just bought some self-adhesive race seat foam that I'm about to cut up, sand down and stick on top of my seat for a bit of extra padding.

If I do it properly it could look ok, a bit like the old Bimota V-Due seat I'm hoping;

It should give just enough extra support.

Could be pissing in the wind of course...
I got my SDR seat re-padded and double covered for £75 in London by Viking Vinyl. It's now a very comfy seat.

The offered seams and panels and all sorts, but I opted for plain black grippy black stuff.

I got it done at a place in Berkshire called Trimmania. Since I have had it done I can ride all day and get none of the numb arse troubles as before.

They actually had the KTM orange material. I di dpay more than some I have heard on the site but it was the easiest place for me. I think it was around £100 to £125 id I remember. May have been a bit less but the best mod I have ever done.
