As a newb to the Superduke fold, what are the differences between the SD & SDR? Is an SDR worth the premium over the SD? Have spotted and am pondering extending my budget...

It has higher HP engine (+10 hp approx)
It has a rock hard single seat, steering damper and next step up white power suspension.
Steering angle is more radical hence the steering damper.

#4That is a 2007 SDR so does not have any horse power increase. That came with the 08 onwards.

#5ride one of each, you'll know which is for you. The SDR does look like sheer sex but some people just dont get on with it, it's a bit focused for some...

#6I'd say if it's your only bike, then the SD is a better bet, but if you've got a second bike for comfort/distance use, buy the SDR.

#7I have 09 SD with pipes, moto box, 02s turned off and Sas turned off. I rode a standard SDR 09 model yes I know it had no mods but after the ride it was like my bike was the best LOL! For me the seat on the SDR would be a killer on a long run also it seemed that the standard SD has more low torque. Is it worth the extra $ for the SDR ?

as stated above 08 on SDR has more power, you can tell an 08 as it says AKRAPOVIC on the downpipes.
What you looking for it to do?
SDR good for Sunday blasts, Track, posing.
SD good for all the above too, but pillion and better for touring.
f you do a few trackdays you will wish you went for the extra ponies of the SDR.

#10i paid 9.7 k for mine brand new 2 weeks ago , which compared to a lot of jap bikes is a very good price , imho itsd not over priced now , last year it was but not now ! and anyway where i live there are a lot more interesting roads than some other places so for me its a fookin bargain !

#11The 07 SDR he has posted in the link is what were on about, its up for 7k.
Its not worth one and a half grand more than an 07 SD eben with akras IMO.
But what you paid for your SDR sounds good, just hope its a keeper as resale on SD's aint the best.

#13Thanks for the advice guys, it is good to hear what you have to say. I think an SD is for me, I like my comfort and the extras on the SDR don't sound like they are worth it
