#3I've replaced the seat unit and rear bodywork with a race 2004 R1 unit. I'm sure you could fit a 2nd hand genuine unit if you wanted - it would definitely give you a better seat and lower riding position; sitting in the bike a bit more.

#12As posted elsewhere, the KTM Ergo gel seat is an improvement, but not a transformation. It gets better with time though and it looks great.
An alternative is to recover your original seat and get a gel insert added. It turned my last seat into a properly comfy seat, and it was durable, grippy andd looked good IMO.
Whatever you do, DON'T get a Corbin seat. They "cup" your arse, and stop you hanging off. They also add 2 inches to the seat height of the bike, and IMO they look horrible. They are also stupidly expensive. I know, cos I had one.

#14Thanks Dutch! I was wondering about doing the Gel insert but thought I would ask about replacments first. I was also thinking of just wearing my cycling shorts with the gel arse pad for longer touring type rides, if I can ride for 3-4 hours on that seat the Duke seat should be easy to deal with.
What kind of gel insert did you go with? thickness? any info would be great!
