Started the bike today and it sounded like she was blowing from somewhere. Look round the headers and there it is. A dirty great crack The one good thing is it was easy to remove the section and I can just send that off to be welded. Still gonna cost me £45 with postage though.

All those horses must have been too much for it

Not that I've got anything to laugh about, my latest issue is gonna cost me a fair bit more than that.

My custom painted fuel tank has developed a leak and apparenty because it is a nylon polyamide it's not repairable with plastic welding
That sure is a proper crack.
Will weld up good though, does make me wonder why it happened though ?
Ouch!
I'm also wondering what could have caused this.
Both Titanium and stainless steel can suffer stress fractures like this, the problem can occur if any part of the system is not aligned correctly before tightening everything up,
The best way to avoid this is to be very careful when fitting the system, loose fitting the full system first dont tighten anything down, make sure every joint is lined up with no tension, gradually tighten down the headers first but keep checking the other sections, take your time getting this right and the chances of stress cracking will be reduced to a minimum.
Do you think Arapovic would replace that section?

You'll be getting a phone call
bloody hell Klincky! Maybe thats why she was popping a wee bit on Sunday...?

I'm shocked to see that massive crack buddy.....what a gip. Bloody headers are fast becoming THE problem area on the SDs arent they?

BTW. My dealer got an immediate OK on warranty claim for my Y section. Go figure. Needless to say I am pleased it was OKd. Time to try and new dealer?
