#5I find cleaning a PITA but do use it as a chance to check for problems. I would pay another rider to do it if I was confident they had a brain and gave a shit. The problem is that to make real money at it you will have to hire people to do the work. Those people are way less likely to give a shit and so may affect repeat business. A friend of mine started a mobile business with a tank truck to go wash cars at auto dealerships. Margins were really thin and it was a constant hassle trying to find qualified employees at a wage that made economic sense.
You almost have to offer different levels/pricing as people's bikes will be everything from mildly funky to nasty balls of crap.
If you are going to do it, I would try to find a way to test it with low overhead (but not just mates as they can't/won't give you honest feedback) and then decide if it makes sense to go for it on a "real business" scale.
Unless your testing tells you your return will be adequate, I'd stick the money in the market and keep my day job.
