I am in the process of constructing a new house.

New workshop will be 4 x 6 meters, complete insulated, floor heating, electricity 400V and 230V, internet, TV etc., large workshop table, water (hot/cold) and stainless sink, normal ventilation (bike not started inside).

I only need to decide if i want a bike lift........

CANT WAIT, PROJECT WILL BE FINISHED EARLY 2009.......

12x25 feet sounds like an absolute minimum. If you can, make it bigger, even if you compromise on other stuff until later.

I dunno know how big this is, but it's tandem garage, wide enough for a wide car and long enough for two.

The car stays outside and gets splattered with ibis shit and it's currently got refuse bags instead of the rear window - some..uhh..thieves took it out and left it propped against the wall.
When I had my R6 I used to store it in my garage, then I bought this silly helicopter and was realy tapped for space, so I shrink wrapped the chopper and stuck it outside. Bikes ALLWAYS stay in the warm and dry ![img][/img]

Yep, the outlet is for the exhaust fumes only. I was thinking of having a small window just a little lower down (exhaust height) for a neat simple job.
Here are a few pic's of my project garage/workshop any comments/tip's/suggestions/abuse welcome. I dont pretend to be a builder or anything, just bear that in mind if you comment.[img]http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp117/robcbrown/002.jpg[/IMG][img]http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp117/robcbrown/012.jpg[/IMG]ImageImage I would be out there now but it's a tad below freezin and that may prove to have adverse effect's to my joint's.

Im working out of a 16foot x 22foot shed that locks together ,pulls apart for transport to the next house on the back of flat bed truck ,and have a 12x 16 closed in carport for my red car ,nothing fancy 2 roll up doors salt box style windows up high for less shadows and looky loos to peek in ,this summer will be installing skylights that look like a 6" bubble and are fiber optics sell for 100. each but give light well during day without the heat as normal sky lights and then heat loss at night ............. this will be my bikes only shop when I get our house done ,many moons from now and build a 24x40 shop with room to store everything inside ,camper, boat ,farm tractor
I will be building a workshop/shed in my backyard soon. I have a contractor friend who is helping me. Preliminary size is 14' x 20'. We'll see what the final is.

My list:
Air compressor with air tools,
tyre changer and static balancer
stereo, tv, internet, phone
lift
bench with vise, tool box, drill press, bench grinder
mig welder
lights, electrical outlets, heater
vacuum
above storage
auxillary tank for carb synchroninzing and the like
exhaust port
skylight

I have most of these items already but they're in the garage where I share space with the wife. She does metal sculpting, wood working (easy there), painting and such. She also parks her car in the garage. No room for my bikes and tools so I get the workshop/shed

At last, not complete but alot closer than 11 months ago. Here are a few pics of my progress, its certainly not the best BUT its way better than I've been used to
So here's the thing I gotta wait for my 12 yr old to show me how to do this picture nonsense again
I live in a modest sized 1st floor 2 bedroom flat. The nice thing is it has a nice view out over the river Thames.

The nicest thing however, is it sits above my double garage!

I've thought about removing the floor of the airing cupboard and fitting a firemans poll!
