Hello duke riders I am looking at replacing my rf-800 with a 1000 does anyone else wear one? What are your feelings on suomy's and agv's better? THanks

I've had 2 RX-7's (normal and Corsair) and disliked them both because of the noise.

The RX7 is a great lid, very comfy, BUT it is far too noisy for me.

I use an XR-1000 (European version of the RF) shoei now. Much happier with that.

Shoei has problems misting if I don't use Pinlock. I also have the Whisper strip.

Only ever had Shoei or Arai so don't know about AGV or Suomy.
I have an RF1000. It's a very comfortable helmet, but the chin bar is a little too close to my face than I'd like. Other than that, it nice and light and quieter than the other helmets I've had. I agree with Skavitch regarding the misting issue. I have to crack the visor at traffic lights and even then it mists up and takes a minute or so to clear up once moving. I don't have a pinlock system though...
had AGV Arai and Shoei over the years. The Agv just isn`t as well made/finished and is heavier comparing equivalent models as the other two.
Not much to choose quality-wise betweem Arai and Shoei IMO but I think the Arai has the edge.
Subjectively the Arai seems noisier but with earplugs there`s no real difference. I read some noise tests on helmets(?Ride magazine) which concluded that the Arai Corsair was actually quieter than it`s Shoei competitor(X-spirit) when measured with a dB meter, though the testers felt it was noisier.
The main difference for me was the fact the Arai is much more comfortable with spectacles. The Shoei wouldn`t allow me to wear some types of glasses(Oakleys especially) whereas any type of spectacles can be worn under the Arai.
Be interesting to see what these new EU regs turn up when the various helmet types are tested but I`ll stick to Arai. Keep thinking of Nakano`s 200mph get off at Mugello........he was wearing an Arai and suffered no head injury at all.
I've never owned anything BUT shoei's, every other brand I tried fit lousy.
I've had an RF-200, RF-700, RF-900, and just got an RF-1000. LOVE 'EM!!
I bought the RF-1000 Badge, through Compeptiton Accessories for $299, and also got a light smoke visor. Total was about $335, and got free shipping. I recently tried on a Scorpion 700 EVO (?) which felt quite similar to the Shoei, and it was around $250.
I have the X-Eleven and I'd sleep in it.
