I have been messing with my SD lately and have finally got her all worked out and took a nice ride last Sunday. My mechanical list of mods goes like this:
MotoHooligan Airbox, MH reshaped flies, SAS removal and MH block off plates, O2 sensor delete with Dynojet resistor plugs and Round Akras running no db killers. While there I replaced a leaky oil pressure sending unit, and carried out a valve adjustment. I did not add a PC III.
My observations on the updates. First, I could not be happier. I bought the bike to hotrod and blast around on, and it has without a doubt, fulfilled its part and has made me very happy! The first thing I noticed was the smoothness. Sure the throttle is still "responsive", but not snatchy. I had already learned to modulate the throttle on her with control, but it is now easier to do so with the mods. As I have stated in other posts, this bike is pure fun, and now to me it is even more so. I find the sound to be perfect, not too loud, but not quiet either. Idle is more pronounced and since I wanted to hotrod it with performance pieces, my choices worked for me. Riding her is sweet perfection. I am lucky enough to be minutes away from the So. Cal canyons and she just plain works for me. I am not a fast rider and the bike is far more capable than I am, but she is a perfect choice to me. I have had many and still have a few bikes, and can honestly say that this one is a keeper as I am not sure that I could ever find a bike more suited to the purpose I bought her for, and that has to be the best thing I can say about her.
I also added some flair items as well. I put on some Rizoma bar end mirrors and bar ends, ASV levers, the MH frame sliders, both upper and lower, along with Aarons beautiful clutch cover and heel guards. I also added the taller KTM windscreen and while opinions on it vary, I like
the look of it on my bike.
