Single exhaust for Superduke?

I'm looking for a better sound some weight loss and hopefully a little more HP from my 06 SD.
In a conversation with a custom exhaust builder he casually said that the best setup would be a single cannister exhaust. This got me thinking, and since I live in New Zealand where everything costs 3 times as much as the rest of the world, I thought that maybe there would be a savings here too. So I have got myself a new, single Two Brothers Racing M2 carbon fibre can (a slip on for a Suzi gsxr 1000) figure this can should be designed to cope with as much horesepower as any bike out there.
I am having a custom stainless connector pipe fabricated, and will have the single muffler exiting on the right hand side. I plan to do before and after dyno runs to make sure it works and also hope to see if I can get the dealer put in the Akro mapping for me.
Would like to find out if anyone has done or heard anything on this kind of setup?

jjlester_74 did a single exhaust conversion but he had it coming out above the wheel in the centre!

I did this, my exhaust was made by racefit.
yes you lose a ton of weight and with just a PC3 the bike puts out 118hp and 71fp's but be warned it is very loud

Well I found the answer to 2 into 1 versus twin mufflers , I'm pretty sure its just the noise factor as the two mufflers just split down the noise more than a 2into 1 can. I have installed my two brothers single exhaust after a bit of messing around, making my own bracket to mount in the end of the frame tube etc. The single exhaust is VERY loud on its own, so I installed a 2bros version of the db killer which they call apower tip and it is supposed to knock 5db off but in my opinion still too loud, so I did some experimenting with my own baffle and have added a 220mm section of stainless pipe, perforated with random number of holes drilled, into the end of the can which really reduces the noise and makes a much more pleasing throaty sound rather than the sound like a single with an open pipe. I am not sure about the space on the left where the can is missing but I am working on a small piece of bodywork made from flat black 3mm acrylic to fill the space and blend the tail section.
I hope to do a few dyno runs within the next couple of weeks so will try with a couple different versions of my baffle (drilled vs slotted) and with just the tip and then just open for comparison so will post results when I have them.

Iff you new how small the out lets are for the standed cans you wood understand why two in to one to two out lets , you wood see that the engin wood be strangeld and very restrickted on letting the gases out , this is all done for the nois emishons on the standed cans ,

the exourst killing pollses are delt with as well as the nios in the standed cans with a cat and macanickel baffels ,to get it through the emishons 111 euro standed .

Akras are yoused by KTM becose they are qulity made and will take the pownding of the pollses , good dezinde packing in the tubes , I carnt beleave how meny miles I have done on my open cans (except track days with baffels in ) and I havent had to repack them yet ,

uther V'twins I have ound have been a singal can and outlet but with bigger dyamiter heders and link pipe to alow beter flow for the gases ,

but the pollses from a big V'twin will kill the packing in no time on a singal can , so you end up repacking the can evry six munths becose the pollses are kicking the crap out of the packing and spitting it out as dust out with your exourst gases , thats why all new bikes come with Macanickle baffls in them no heat retarding packing to blow out and larst for as long as the bike dose in standed form and they werk as they keep the gases hot all the way throw this is importent as the hotter the gases are the better they flow quickley out of the chaimbers ,= beter parformance .

Two into one whont give you beter parformance unless you you's bigger hedders and link pipe to let it flow smoothley like the SDR heders but even going to a singal can with theys they are not enuff for a singal can muffler they need to be a bigger dyamiter , not much bigger but a bitmore for a beter flow rate with a singale muffler end can , 118 BHP on an SD is not all that grate to be honest with a singal can .

When theres bikes out there doing 125 BHP , + , with twin cans on , singal cans are are ok for astheticks , but theres no mileige in it for performance gayns . I coud go on but I dont whont to bore you eney more, but I will say this iff you aint running Akras you will be repacking the cheeper pipes a lot sooner that you are all yousing its a fols econemey thing as the packing kits are expencive to buy ,so you mite as well have bort a qulity silencer to start with that you dont have to repack so often .
