Sludge in air box

Hi Guys, I hope someone may be able to shed some light on whats going on with my beloved SuperDuke. Bike is 2008 bought new last year with 5100 miles, Akra slip ons and map, Motobox, SAS removed, secondary flies and shafts removed but not yet remapped. The other morning on the way to work I noticed when I revved it with partial throttle it started to beak up about 7k rpm, it kinda felt like it was firing every other power stroke, or kinda like a 2 stroke feels going down a steep hill under partial throttle. If I gave it full throttle it ran fine and yanked the front wheel up. When I got to work I noticed spots of oil on the upper crash bobbin, frame tubes as well as on the throttle bodies on the left side only. It also stumbled once on the way home but otherwise ran fine. I suspected crancase vent and when I removed the top of the motobox I found an oily sludge pooled between the velocity stacks. It seemed to have a silverly tint to it like it had metal in it but it didn't feel the least bit gritty nor could I see any metal particles in it. I had seriously over oiled the air filter and found red K&N filter oil in the groove the filter sits in but it was as clean as the day I sprayed it on. I suck a Q-tip up the crankcase vent expecting it to be nasty but it was clean as a whistle. This may be 2 seperate issues and I'm wondering if the breaking up is what the secondary flies are meant to prevent, but haven't a clue what the goo is from. Any help greatly appreciated!
water pump oil seal i reckon
not that hard a job to do

Thanks for the replys. Checked the coolant expansion tank this morning and it does look slightly cloudy. Don's know if this is normal or not. I did flush the cooling system thoughly at 3800 miles and did get a lot of sand so premature seal failure a possibility. Guess I'll change the oil this weekend and hope for no mayonaisse.
Any thoughts on the breaking at high revs/low throttle?
there is a topic on how to do it from avid rider.

not hard to do and will save yourself 500 bucks.... just dont forget to do a full oil change and clean out of the air filter while you are at it.

these things go anywhere between 15000 to 30000kms... they are a known item to wear out on the LC8 motor... more of a consumable if you will.
