With the 2015s coming out by fall--Will that "wreck" resale on these 2014s?

If they have actually updated the 1290 for 2015 and addressed some of the faults of the first model then I'm sure it would affect resale value unless all the improvements could be retrofitted to the first bikes.

Too busy riding mine to care about 15 plated bikes that will be the same as my 14 plated bike.

rumor has it that they are going to de tune
the motor on bikes coming to the usa
only going to be one color orange
the orange bikes already not as powerful as
the black ones
they have to detune the due to EPA
and insurance regulations
its that or they can only be brought in as race
only bikes not road legal
either way i dont care as i am rocking my
black 1290R

look at all the test when they dyno the orange
bikes they are always lower than the black ones

as they sell for more in every country except the us
the demand for the bike is really the reason
talking between 2k-3k more.

I think resale will hold well.
There's a lot of folk who didn't want to spend 14K on a bike.
Take off the VAT and a bit and they get interested.
There's also cronic short supply in the UK so that helps.

Build dates will remain 2014 till 2015 Manufacture will be changed in mid year with all bikes heading west from India and all bikes east will be the same minus the date changes.

Well I believe another shipment is coming to Oz around August, so they will be 2014's.

Probably de-tune and soften them for next year, like they did when they made the '07 model
