#3If they have actually updated the 1290 for 2015 and addressed some of the faults of the first model then I'm sure it would affect resale value unless all the improvements could be retrofitted to the first bikes.

#6rumor has it that they are going to de tune
the motor on bikes coming to the usa
only going to be one color orange
the orange bikes already not as powerful as
the black ones
they have to detune the due to EPA
and insurance regulations
its that or they can only be brought in as race
only bikes not road legal
either way i dont care as i am rocking my
black 1290R
hardest problem i am having is keeping
the drool off the bike
its like i am out with the hottest woman
that was ever created

#9orange bikes are dynoing between 5 to 7 hp lower
look at all the test when they dyno the orange
bikes they are always lower than the black ones
also heard there will be a price increase
as they sell for more in every country except the us
the demand for the bike is really the reason
talking between 2k-3k more.
and once again they will be in short supply
i dont know how true any of this is however
we all know what we went threw to get our
bikes.
ps. i also heard from my source bmw is
having problems with the electronics
on the s1000r buyer beware.

#11I think resale will hold well.
There's a lot of folk who didn't want to spend 14K on a bike.
Take off the VAT and a bit and they get interested.
There's also cronic short supply in the UK so that helps.

#20Probably de-tune and soften them for next year, like they did when they made the '07 model
