Sods Law?

Had my SDR a 3 months now.

Love it just as much as my previous KTMs.



As, you can see from the pic. It's standard.

Got a tankpad and fitted it. Got a set of crash bungs for the engine. Haven't fitted them just yet.

Decided to go on a 250mile round trip/blast. the other day. Half familiar and half new to me road.
Came to this section..Blind

Followed by this..A 1:5 ratio downhill Z

Then This..


Result..

Plus bust gear lever and a few more scrapes. But the worst saved by my Knee!!! (Well bruised.)
Anyways lesson learnt. I had been along that road before 21/2 years ago but a couple of Winters had knocked the hell out of it.
Best is The roads I didn't know atall were superb.

argh...that just sucks man!!!...glad to hear that you are ok...& that luckily your baby didn't get hurt too bad...I feel for you. Definitely sod's law about not fitting the frame sliders. I have been meaning to get some for a while now....I think your post has just motivated me to get some frame sliders a.s.a.p.

PS: what actually happened....did you run off the road & lay her down?? Me personally, I'd blame it on one of those rouge sheep...lol...could be dodgy one of them running out into the road.

Well to be honest Rob. It was me making that wrong road choice. Yet again!!!

The road I was on The B6355 is a road that you shouldn't be taking a sportbike along. It is more for an enduro bike and not a hard setup SDR
The 3 pics are from the very place I lost it.

First pic shows a Blind approach. (I was kindof aware of this)

Second shows the bends fairly steep downhill. I'm over to the left to see if its clear to cut. Bikes ends up on the worn away gravel 3rd pic. I end up going straight on and heading for a ditch. It's Unfortuanately to much front and down for me.
It is common practice for councils up here, just to throw loads of gravel down on backroads during the summer, in the forelorn hope that the tar melting in the Summer Heat?? and car tyres will force the gravel into the tar. This ridiculous method causes mounds of gravel in the centre of lanes, which us on bikes have to be aware of. Also through constantly laying the gravel The Gravel Tar mix becomes unstable and with less bonding material the road then becomes a Hit or miss dirt track.

BTW. That's the bit I came off at was a lot better than some of the bits I managed to get through. More fool me? Should've stuck to the fast 'A' road.
