Speedo glass

Hi all, does anyone know if you can get a replacement clear cover for an SD speedo? The bike I've just bought has a cracked clock face and I'm being told by my local KTM dealer (Laguana's in Maidstone) that I need to buy a complete speedo assembly as they cannot supply the face separately (even though it's just screwed on)

'05-06 or '07 onwards?

If this is the 990 SD then I'm afraid they are right. Got to replace the whole unit.

They do come up on ebay and on this forum sometimes. Maybe this post will get someone offering you one?

Mine has developed a crack in the front face so I am looking out for for one but as it doesn't yet leak I feel there is no rush. I believe that there is some way to get a dealer to reset the clock on a used item but I don't think many people bother.

They go for varied prices too. Seems whatever people will pay at the time.

I shouldn't tell you this because he offered it to me. But I haven't been over to see him for over six months since the offer so maybe Karma says I don't deserve it

There's a guy called Paul who used to be Bracken's mechanic and after they shut he carried on working on KTMs from the same place in South London.

He has a spare set of clocks for the '07 SD. He might still have them.

I have two dead complete speedo units with good cases..................................mesdames et messieurs, faites vos jeaux.

I just used a needle to fill my crack with superglue. The guy I got mine off of replaced his once before that and I didn't feel like dealing with a stealer.
