sprocket cover

Hi folks, a mate of mine has been fiddling with his mill and come up with a cover for front sprocket.

centre hole is a bit off centre, but this was just a quicky for testing purposes.
Also hook bit at front, that sits in behind clutch slave needs to be removed as it reduces the amount it can be spaced out.
made from 6mm plate just needs spacing off with small bushes at about 18mm, then existing bolts can be used to attach it.

reckons he can make these for £45 plus postage.... if enough interest....?

piccies on my sm, doesn't sit quite right as i've got scotoiler pipe glued to frame behind, but you get the idea...

what do you think?

Great idea, but same as you, I'd need a non rusty chain, a nice Gold Renthal sprocket and a 'bung' to tidy up the sprocket shaft.

Any excuse for a bit more bling !

Miff
Could leave the middle hole ' out ' altogether.... and make the centre solid , no nasty nut on show, no need for a bung .
Any more news on these
if everything is properly centred and then powder coated black I'd def be interested. Keep us updated.
Sorry not me, don't like it...
No offence, just different taste.
+ on the effort of making it.
It gets the thumbs up from me, makes cleanin easier and keepin an eye on sprocket wear would now be a doddle. I'd buy one.
I can not quite see if there is a "case saving feature" for when the chain breaks and gets jamed in this cover area. That can total some bikes. The stockers are usuallly dual function. Cover and case saver. We don't hear of many chains breaking any more but shit does still happen.

how about a full bike pic phil ?
Don't suppose your friend fancies making a off set top triple does he??

And anodised in black I think that sprocket guard could do the job.
Need to see picks of the whole bike, tank, seat, etc. love aluminium tanks...
if possible in black, im up for 1 aswell
Took me long enough to get these pics!
I'll try to get a whole bike piccy soon, but don't hold your breath!

Stepped yokes no prob either , he's done a few!

Material or colour choice can be sorted with him, and alterations to this design are not a big problem....

If there is genuine interest, PM me and I'll let you have Matey's no, so can speak direct........

Not sure if it's going to be a catalogue item..... he also is making a front mudguard and hugger from ally too.
It was just a request from a mate so he had a modern version of his triton!
