#7BEARS is the way to go. There are a few SD's racing this year.
I had my first ever race on the 25Th April.
Starting racing at 41 may not be the smartest thing I have ever done, but hey, thought "what the hell" I'd give it a shot.
That first ever race start was a bit hairy ':shock:'with 30+ bikes all going flatout trying to get into that first corner.
Lets just say I wasn't the quickest round the track, ( Eastern Creek, NSW) but I didn't get lapped':)', didn't come last ':D'and came back in one piece':lol:'
Great day, lots of friendly people and great to be out on the track.
There is a round coming up in June 10/11 at the Queensland raceway, drop in & have a look or better still come and race.

I suffered from some horrible Austrian stomach dicease the whole week, but gathered enough energy to struggle into 5th place in streetbike-class.

#18Do they still run the 990 superduke race class?? Was it apart of the BSB?? If they do I wish we had it in Australia!!!!!!!

#19No they did it for 2 years as a one make series which was run as support races to BSB. KTM then had RC8's to sell so the ran an RC8 cup for a year after that. This year they are doing a series for 15-18 yr olds on 690's.
They were / are a good way to launch a new bike. I looked into the SD Battle series and it cost about 8000 quid for a bike (which you kept at the end) plus entries and, at each round, a set of control tyres (Contis). I cant remember what the winner got the first year the second year he (Dave Wood) got an RC8 and entry into the RC8 Cup (which he also won) However, entering wasnt winning; there was a really mixed field. Some riders were new to racing and no faster than inter trackday pace others were close to BSB backmarkers at short tracks.
The bikes were supposed to be standard, it has since become clear than many werent but that is racing. Shame that it never continued as I am sure we would have had some major developments to the Superduke by now if they were still racing them.

#20in Germany they still run the Superduke Battle, its no longer official KTM, but a private organized crowed.

#21The Superduke is eligible to run in the naked bike class with Thundersports GB but there is no specific race series for them here any more.
I expect that KTM will look to run one once the new SD is launched.
