I've had a few bikes in my time but the SD is by far the best and the most insane, mad-as-hell bike I've had or ridden. I never knew a bike could be this wild and this much fun. It's a good thing to wear a dark visored full face helmet so people won't see yer bulging eyes, psycho grin hammered in your face and foaming mouth from riding this nutter...
But don't take our biased word for it. The SD finished second behind the Gixxer thou in the last International Bike of Year contest. This is a ranking made by some 15 or 20 Bike Mags around the World. The link below to Cycle World doesn't cover the whole IBoY contest but is gives a good impression.

#6Every new bike has problems. SD has so few that even Honda would envy it. The point is that all SDs that are around still have waranty so whatever the prob you'll fix it for free. I have changed the starter and the clutch pump all under waranty and now the bike runs smoothly and problem free. I think of them as minor problems. We here know of 2 or 3 major problems that have been solved with either change of engine or the hole bike. Even so the problem bikes are still few. Even jap bikes have problems. I know of few CBRs RR that have had problems. So I'd say take a ride and see. Its more possible not to like one because of how sharp the bike is rather than of problems regarding technical stuff.
