Surging when I turn the triples

Hey all, looking for the expertise of the forum. Did a search and couldn't find a solution, so here goes:

My bike is a 2007 and it's been acting really stranger lately. It had a pc3 on it and was surging up to about 1500 rpm and when I turned the triples either left or right it surges up to 2500 to 3000 rpm. Last night I removed the power commander and cleaned out the big grey connector and filled it with dielectric grease. Reattached everything and fired it up and it's still doing the same thing. Do the throttle cables get hung up or pinched anywhere? That's really the only thing I can think of. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I move it either way, lock to lock it surged up to 3000 rpm.
Have you had the headlight cowling down or off at all? maybe put it back in position and trapped the cables?

I took the front cowl off and the cables weren't caught on anything but when I move the cables at all the bike revs up. Maybe I need to order some new throttle cables? They don't appear to be snagged anywhere, maybe they have just been stretched somewhere along the line.
