it's usually the way, as soon as the frame needs repair they automatically write it off, the cost of the new frame and the labour involved to replace it would be a fair bit. good to hear you're ok, diesel is a bitch and the number of times i've seen trucks driving around without fuel caps in and around brisbane is frightening.
as for your choices, ask yourself if you could live with seeing the damage whenever you wash and polish it, if you can then buy it back and repair it, as long as you're happy to hang on to it long enough for the resale to level out. if you can't, cut your losses and move on.
can i ask who you get to look after it on the coast mate?

I have good insurance, usually send the bike off with them....I have an issue with previously wrecked bikes....

They even payed out a bike I wrecked at the track.....
