Swapping bikes on rides

I don't mind letting people I ride with take a turn on my bike.
Plus I get to ride bikes of all shapes and sizes.

Most of the people I ride with are like me and have their bike in the shed all week and take it out on the weekend.

Everyone, with the exception of my wife who had ridden my bike come to
a stop with huge smiles and a list of superlatives as long as their arm.

"That's the most fun you can have on two wheels. The weight, the power,
the brakes and that sound............. The thing is just awsome" type stuff.

When I first rode an SD. That was it. Some how, some way I would have one. No question.


I always ask the same question. "Would you buy one?" and am always met with the same answer. "No"

"But you've just ridden the best, most funnest bike in the history of history"

"Awwww yeah but"

But what?? Some things I just don't get.

All my regular group have ridden my bike, and they comment on the fantastic engine character and drive. The oldest (sprint st) actually says it made his bike feel like a blender.
Same guy also said the seating position makes him aggro enough to get off and start a barfight , they all say how great it is.
The other thing they love is the looks, one comment; it looks like a steroid-pumped mix between a wasp and a scorpion (which I really like !

None except the street triple rider (26 years old) enjoy the overtly fast steering ( ), or twitchiness in less-than-perfect corners. But even when they mention that, it's more like they're complimenting my riding ability because I can 'manage' it, than knocking the bike (such a great bunch of guys ). And the wind. They get tired of the wind very quickly...

All in all, they've told me the only reason they wouldn't consider buying one are because they have requirements a naked cannot provide; offroading, 200kph touring, and 300kph top speeds...
