Sweet 990 tail section

Saw this 990 here in New Zealand and really like what he's done with the tail section.

Has anyone seen this done before and know what you'd need to tidy the tail in this way? Owner doesn't know anything about it.

It's hack sawed off. A lot of people used to do that as they didn't like the duckbill.

Where are the indicators mounted, if this bike has any in the rear? In Estonia, we have to have indicators apart from each other atleast 17 cm by law, how many times i have thought about that shaved tail section, i could not figure out where to put them. Except for bar end indicators.
