Taking Hooliganism to a new SD level..

As some of you may know, I've been off my beloved SD for a while now. I dabbled with the SDR thinking I'd be able to cut the 05 gal loose but guilt, love and loyalty kept me awake for weeks and I couldn't sell her...

Roll on a cupla spinal ops etc. and I can't wait to be back in the saddle this weekend, though the typical Scottish weather might have Klinky and I looking drunkenly out of a Highland pub window arguing over the Capitalist ridiculousness of Monoply or worse, playing chess with 7 pieces missing and having to listen to a drivellingly pissed Jock lecture us about how the Sassenachs raped and pillaged the Highlands whilst wearing girly troosers...

Anyway, I digress.

I have had the great idea of sticking an SDR engine in my 05 SD and getting it turboed. I was thinking, well, dreaming of this, whilst walking to the pub and listening to Deadmau5, up came a trance funeral march just as I'd decided to do it. Let's just say the Universe spoke....and was promptly told to fuckthefuckoff, totally worth dying for..

So, if anyone knows of a good SDR engine with accompanying accoutrements, I'd be interested. I'd even buy the whole crash-fucked bike, come to think of it, anyone riding a decent SDR at the Crashfest?

Help and ideas will always be appreciated, drivel will not be..... and yes Drivelduke, that means you, no bloody poems on the pink and perky intricacies of a wombat's throttle bodies....*sigh*
You're crazy!

More serious, go for a Mitsubishi TD025 or TD25 (don't know exactly) because these will spin up easily and will have a great spread of power for a motorcycle. Lots of replacement and revision parts available as well as documentation.

You might want forged pistons to handle the extra pressure, lower the compression a bit (spacer under cylinder) and use a high quality pressure release valve (0,5bar extra pressure should be enough)
Placement for the turbo will be a challenge, you might consider placing it at the spot the stock exhaust (now Y piece) sits and using a single muffler since a turbo absorbs a lot of sound energy.

Also, use a tuner with turbo experience on motorcycles or it might get very expensive...

Well chatting to Klincky last night, before absolutely pissing ourselves laughing at Superdan's 'Drivelduke Downfall', he reckons the crank's rated to <150bhp. I've had a chat with John at http://track.gktvs.co.uk/ and after blueprinting, porting and polishing it'll go to the mental Frenchies that did the SMR in that vid, anyone know who did the custom job?

And the turbo's back in the room..

Please explain TLS Russ, c'mon... You're surely not sulking 'cos I called your missus, a munter with her hairbrush up her snatch, are you? Never mind all that malarkey, tell us what you know?! Pretty pleeeeaasee, with bells on..

I looked at supercharging an RC8R and TTS recon they can do me one with an intercooler for about £5000.
Power should go from about 165 (real) rear wheel hp to about 240.
Its been my plan for a long time that this would have to be done when I get an RC8R and street fighter it - it will get this treatment.
On that basis a supercharged SDR motor should make about 190-200bhp but I'm not sure the cases and crank would be up to it.
Superduke + turbo + Motoronin = fall off even faster

Fall off even faster + fall off again and you'll be paralysed = does not compute

So I reckon computer says No

You could just stick a turbo on a wheelchair and save time

Seriously, good luck if you do it but go easy. I dont want you showing up at Crashfest like Dr X or that Prezzio off of Ducati both of whom also share your passion for mad engineering projects.

By the way, this idea sounds like a pipe dream.
What could the SD be bored out too? theoretically?
