Taking the fight back to them

Ok guys im sick of the cops up on glorious and other local rds doing dangerous manouvers to 'catch dagerous criminals' i.e. speeding cyclists

i came round a blind corner to almost take out that undercover grey golf gti through the drivers side door doing a three point turn... then to catch the cyclist in question they had to overtake 2 cars over double white lines (this is what is on the whole top of glorious)...

All this was done to catch a mate doing 74 in a 60 zone (going the other direction to the cop car)... they gave him a lecture about being safe after all that. After almost causing an accident... 'but they have their flashing lights on so they must be safe'

so as much as i would like to wipe the pig off the face of the earth; there is a smarter way

everyone should have one of these cams so we can catch them at their own game... when they slip up on film we make them pay dearly like we do.

these only cost like 20 bucks delivered and could force cops to pull their heads in. Contrary to popular belief, we do not need to show them any of the film or even request that we give them our memory cards... unless they get a warrant.

Plus if you do get pulled over and are filming them it is not just your word against theirs anymore as you have proof... but never admit to anything.

It will take some time but if we do this we will no longer be 'the soft target' and they will move their money making schemes somewhere else

I see a few bikers and cyclists over here with cameras always on, myself included, mainly to protect my interests in an event of any kind.

was he going after a bicyclist or motorcycle? either way he shouldn't be making dangerous turns on a twisty road. a guy was killed on my favorite road a couple of years ago when he t-boned a car that was making an illegal u-turn on a blind corner. the cops said it was the motorcyclist fault because he was going to fast, when in reality they have no idea how fast he was going (they weren't there) and it didn't matter how fast he was going he couldn't see the car until it was too late. good luck in your quest.

I had a cop coming towards me fully sideways in the wet once he was chasing a dude that was speeding and that dude was me LOL!
What happended was that I over took this old dude going slow and went a bit over the speed limit as you do when you over take and this nob cop decided that I was a outlaw and must be brought to justice by any means and then gives me a lecture about how dangerous it is in the wet LOL!

I am quite tempted to get a camera for my rides. I know what you mean about LEOs doing stupid things to catch petty crimes.

The one I hate the most is them 'baiting' you by getting an officer in an unmarked car to do 15k under the limit on a nice easy flowing road with heaps of overtake chances but it is all double whites. Then you take the chance and overtake only to have highway patrol pull you up 2 mins up the road and wait for the first car to get there with video evidence.

I have just bought one.

This is exactly the reason I don't ride Nebo/Glorious anymore, too many idiot cops power tripping..

They are the same all over. In NZ one was overtaking me and a slow car in front of me on a 4 lane main road. I was in the van and behind me was another car. That section of road is steep uphill and as the cop was passing me i could see the car behind switching on the indicator to overtake me and the car in front, the cop was still in the second lane, at that moment anothe car came down the hill a bit too fast which is not difficult as it is a bit of a hill. The cop decided to slam the brakes and do a U to pick up that car. The chap behind me had to slam the brakes too and get back behind me in a hurry or he would have been all overthe cops ass. I could see the idiot pig doing the manoeuver, he didn't even looked in his mirror, all he could see was the other car comming downhill and a ticket.... They F me off so much!!!!!

Problem is in NZ they had a few issues when there was a crime going on and they didn't show as it was a "health and safety issue" or they are understaffed. Better still at one stage they send a taxi to pick a woman up as she felt unsafe at home couse of an offender in the neighbourhood threatning her.....
It became a statistic... So sad.

self preservation i'm afraid mate, i need my license for work so there's no way i'm going near glorious/nebo on a weekend, only maybe midweek but it's no fun, you're always watching the edge of the road waiting to be mugged!
And there's no way i'm putting a cam on my bike, i fear i may incriminate myself much more than the fleeting possibility of catching out plod!
I always however, start my voice memo app on my iPhone before i say a word to a cop and i make sure they know it, it's amazing how little they have to say when THEY'RE being recorded at the side of the road.

Mate you guys want to try and deal with the copers in Victoria, if you think they are bad up there, you should see how low the scums go over here, they hid in the bush in cammo gear with radar and camera and call up to a car up ahead to pull the said speeding/dangerous rider up and fine them, and they dont need to supply evidence to fine you either.

Victorian police (or any for that matter) have no idea what road safety is, just a gready governement making money, and also the governemebtr not wanting bikes in Australia at all. they are even trying to make it illegal to ride a dirt bike on your own property

yep, fined me for not displaying a rego label, even though it expired two days before hand and i was waiting for my new one in the mail. i told the prick that and he checked on his pooter but still booked me! told me i should pay it early enough to get a sticker by the due date, even though the due date is for payment!
