In a land far far away from the Shandy drinking South I rode the duke today and felt the trembling of the dark (or orange) side of the force whilst riding my duke.....
Soon enough the presence was there, an uplanned enocounter with a Superduke R coming towards me with a rider on board I had not done battle with as yet, the man was none only to me by cyberspace his name...... Sabre. I recognised him so.
As he passed from infront I looked in my mirror the brake light from his orange clad R braked, the force was strong with this one, he wanted to do battle. Having been one to turndown SD tustle I pulled over and removed my garments as his u turn was completed.
The respect for the darkside was shown with a shake of hands and a chat over a cup of tea at the local biker hang out, It appeared a worth contender and top bloke is he.
The stamping ground was set, Market Rasen to Wragby my weapon of choice a 2006 Superduke, the weapon for Sabre the 2007 superduke R his baffleless thud made me tremble as he awoke the sleeping beast, his wounds from combat were seen worn knee sliders on both limbs, this was going to be tough.
We set off with myself in the lead, as we struck the bends one after another, the orange blur in my mirror by back tyre would not budge, it was clear my orange skills were no match for his, it was clear he was testing my skills before the killer blow.
At the pace taken it was not long before we reached our first destination, now Sabre was on the attack, his rear tyre facing me I chased him down using all my training, it was obvious his Jedi skills were far greater on the twisty stuff and my meagre skills made me taste the ever growing space between us.
The villages came and went as the ears bleeding from the OAP's walking around the fine Sunny morning from the one sided but baffleless battle of the dukes.
The Jedi master now took pity and let me lead once again as if took some enjoment out of it, once again on the attack the battle at my rear tyre was one sided, with his corner speed high and experience like wise it was not long before I made my first mistake, mid corner changing gear it slipped out and upset the handling a rossi-esque foot out saved the day but this battle had already been won.
As we reached our destination it was clear I was not ready to move up to the orange lightsabre which the jedi master rode, my training incomplete and padowan skills the battle lost I will be back, to win the war, I believe it's on September the 4th, the destination Cadwell Park...
Sabre it was a pleasure will have to do it again soon....
Learn much I will.....
